Sick

Hola Mi familia,

Yo Tengo... I have been working on my Spanish lately. It has been a pretty good week nothing really amazing happen, I am happy that I didn't hit my head against anything this week. I did get my comp. Pretty good with a belt whipping battle. right in the jaw. I Felt pretty bad, but he forgave me.

There was a baptism that I went to It was a guy that I helped teach. His name is Elvin, he works for the air force for intelligence. He is the coolest guy ever. he made all the right changes in his life so that he could experience the full power and joy that the Holy Ghost can bring us. It was a really good baptism. Before they were baptized the Spanish Elders told us that the water was cold so Elder Gordon and I got these big pots and filled them with water and we boiled them and poured them into the font. It wasn't enough to make it warm but it was enough to make it not freezing.

Daniel and Jennifer Molina are not doing as good this week. Jennifer came down with a major infection in her body that took her to the hospital. So I haven't seen them in a couple of days. I hope that they are doing better and that we can help in any was possible. Milagros Feleciano is doing alright, she didn't make it to stake Conference because she was out of town with her aunt. It was a little frustrating but we will be patient with her. There baptismal date is on the 12th of February. We are going to word extra extra hard and smart to prepare them and help them come into the fold of God.

It didn't help that I got sick Yesterday. I was out for the count. I slept most of the rest of the day and all of the night. My bones ached and I had no strength in me. I was kind of getting depressed that I couldn't get out there and teach the people that I love, and Satan was working very hard on me to make me doubt myself and make me miserable. I just prayed and studied when I had enough strength and I was spiritually uplifted. I feel a lot better today and I am going make sure that I can be there for our investigators.

I hope that I can be more like Job in those situations of struggle and hardship. I was reading this morning in the Ensign in back of the title page. Job States," Even though God may destroy me, ..... I will trust in Him." I know that God knows what will make us happy and he will help us through the hard times in our lives. We just have to trust in him.

I love you and wish you to have the comfort of the spirit to guide you this next week. Take Care.

Yellow

Hey family,

This week was a good week, better than last week. Yesterday was the last day of the transfer and me and my comp Elder Lins will be staying together for another transfer. Which is good because elder Lins is a cool guy. Yesterday he told me that he wants me to be his personal trainer this next transfer, I guess will see.

There's this little girl called Victoria, and she has a nickname for me. She calls me ´Yellow´. Yellow because I have blond hair, so she just calls me yellow. I smile every time she calls me ´yellow´, Its just so funny.

Love you hope you all have a good week and do good stuff.

the refrigerator and I meet face to face

Hey Family,

I am doing well. This week was good because a lot of things happened. We have been working very hard to help our investigators progress. We set three baptism dates with Milagros Feleciano, Daniel Molina and Jennifer Molina(His sister). Milagros is the most bossy 9 year old I have ever met, even more bossy than Jessica,( hahahaha) and a very funny attitude like you would find on the streets. Her whole family are members, but they are way less active, so she really doesn't have anyone else to look up to. her mom has crones so she has a very hard time staying at church when she comes. I have hope that because of Milagros Example she will inspire her family to come to church more and more.

Daniel and Jennifer Molina are very cool. We ran into their mom outside of Publix and she just looked at us for a minute and then said," Elders" in her cute little Spanish accent. She wanted us to teach her kids and help them come closer to Christ. Daniel is about 16 almost 17, and Jennifer is 17 almost 18. Missionaries were over there before and baptized their now inactive father and now we are working on the rest of the family. We set a date for the 5th of February, so we will see if they will keep their commitments and get baptized on that date.

Me and elder Gordon went up this Saturday to the Willis's farm. Together me and Elder Gordon dug out a 5 foot post in the ground. It was hard and very tiring. The suction in the Florida mud made it almost impossible to pull it out. but with our strength and might we were able to pull that bad boy out. Then we helped bro Willis put up the other posts and wires. I was digging a post hole and I ran into a big tree stump. I reach in to feel around and before I new it fire ants were all over my right arm. It hurt but I am good.

One funny thing happened to me on a Friday night. Elder Gordon and I were at the Spanish Elder's Apartment having a sleep over in Ruskin so we could save miles and get up to work faster in that area. So while we were there, Elder Gordon and I played an interesting game. I call it "Slapping faces". It was so much fun and I was winning too. But as we kept going, we kept edging toward the kitchen. Their Shack is very small and four missionaries in one of those shack is a little crowded. So, We were in the kitchen and I kept dodging his swings and blocking his swipes, then he swung and I dodged his hand. but I did not dodge the Refrigerator. My head hit the refrigerator so hard I didn't even know that I had hit it. Elder Gordon and the Spanish Elders Broke out in laughter while I was holding my head. There was a good bump on my head but I iced it really good so the swelling went down very fast. So Elder Gordon has learned to just wait for me to knock myself out instead of doing it himself. man I wanted to shoot that refrigerator.

One thing on the spiritual side that I learned from my Refrigerator experience was that I need to stop beating myself up about stuff. I find myself regretting things that I have said during lesson, or saying that I am not good enough to teach this person. Satan has really just convinced me that I don't matter. Well, I told you about My wake up call. I know that I am worth everything to my Father on earth and in Heaven. I can do all things Through Christ. He believes in me and he wants me to believe in myself. I know that these things that I say are true.

I love it out here and I hope that you all are loving every minute you have to glorify your Father in Heaven. Take good care.

hair cut

Dear family,

This week was a good week for us. We cut our hair and had interviews with President Jackson. And the normal stuff, teaching, and talking with people. And its been raining a lot.
Last week we got our hair cut (I was really needing it) on P-day. So the guy cut my hair, and when he was done he spiked my hair with a lot of gel. I didn´t want to be rude so I left it, and we went home to fix it. On the way we ran into one of our investigators, he laughed and said I looked like ´Bart Simpson´, we talk a little bit more and then went home to fix my hair. It was pretty funny looking.
But this week we taught a young women named Deiana and she went to church and she loved it, she excited to be baptized next month. This week we had a harder time than normal trying to find people to teach, but it was a good week.
Love you all and just to let you guys know I am doing fine and I hope you all have a good week.

Apollo Beach

Another day in Apollo Beach and I am loving it. This week has been very good with my my Comp. Elder Gordon. Yesterday we had our p-day and it was alright. Elder Gordon and I went to the Vitamin discount center so we can get pumped. No, but I think that it will be a good goal to work for. Later that day we had a great lesson with a new investigator. Her name is Milagros Felecianos, and she is in a part member family. she is 9 years old today, happy birthday Milly. She really is thinking about baptism so we set a goal with her to get baptized on the 29th.

We have been doing alot of changes in how we do missionary work now. President Summerhays said that we will be working with members and getting referrals from them. I have a very good feeling about it and I think that it will be very effective.

This last week I had the opportunity to be with two greenies, elder Jenkins, and Elder Glad. Elder Jenkins( Spanish missionary) is from Utah and Elder glad is from Utah as well. I felt like an old man being with them but I was happy that I was able to be an example to them for the three days I was with them. We worked so hard together and we had some good lessons with our investigators. some were in Spanish and some English, the one I liked and remember the most was with Pablo and Sylvia. They don't speak too much English but I tried my best to pay good attention to what they were saying. I feel like I was comprehending more and more as I focused and listened. It was so hard but I could tell that Sylvia has a very strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was baptized this last week and I have never seen someone was so happy in my life. she just beamed with light and love. She told us that even though she is baptized that we still need to come and visit.

Other than Milagros, We are trying to set a date with Daniel and Jennifer Molina. Daniel is 16 and Jennifer is 17. They are struggling with reading the book of Mormon and coming to church but I am not giving up on them. Hopefully their finals in school are all done and they are more able to keep their commitments.

One of the best parts about this transfer is mi companero, Elder Gordon. He is the coolest guy ever. every transfer I learn new things but this transfer I feel like I am going to the next level on being an effective missionary. Not only an effective missionary but a more loving one as well. It has been hard with some of the investigators that we have. I love them and they are so great but they have just not been progressing and I felt that I couldn't do anything about it. but Since Elder Gordon has come, I have been able to be more bold and more loving so I can let the spirit work.

the lord knows all things and I know that as we trust in him and do our best we will be happy.

I love you all and I wish the the best of luck on what ever you are up to this week. i believe in you.

Me and Elder Lins

Hey everybody,

This week was a good week. Me and elder Lins have four people we are helping prepare for baptism. This week we also have been knocking on a lot of doors. This last Saturday we had a family home evening with some members. On Sunday me and elder Lins gave talks. These are some of the things we did this last week.

The four people we are helping prepare for baptism are Oseias, Edimar, Deiana, and Tatiane. We have been teaching Oseias for about 5 weeks. Its been hard trying to teach him and his family because he works in a ´Pizzeria´. But he’s reading and praying. Edimar went to church and is reading the Book of Mormon, and praying. He is starting to become happier.

This week was a good week and I’m doing good and am safe, so if you were wondering I´m ok.

Love you all and hope you have a good week.
